In the wild North Atlantic, off the East Coast of Nova Scotia, lies a 40-kilometer strip of sandbar named Sable Island. Notoriously known as the 'graveyard of the North Atlantic', this tiny island and its surrounding waters have engulfed more than 350 ships since the late 1500s. On the desolate coastline, more than 4000 dead seals have been found ashore since the 1990s.
In the vast central Pacific Ocean, about 1300 kilometers southwest of Honolulu are several small islands dotted along an extensive coral reef. The largest among them is Johnston Atoll. The short bush and sandy soil provide a nesting and breeding haven for migrating seabirds, including bobbies, albatrosses, and red-tailed tropical birds.
Mysterious penguin remains are discovered in Lamplugh Island, a place beyond the reach of these short-legged creatures.
Intriguing shipwrecks and dark underwater tunnels take divers back in time to an unknown chapter on Canada?s Bell Island.
